I went with the obvious game type but kind of killed it with some post 2000 stuff too. Nevertheless, worked with stereo and panning for instruments (other than percussion) more than before.

I wanted to do a song for another place but it came out melancholically and not quite Middle-Eastern so this is what came out. I think I had this in my mind, the thought, tormenting me still.

Elongated the beginning too much but I didn't want to shorten it out. It doesn't sound that bad and work was put on it. The second half of the song is where it gets interesting without images to help out.

 

If anyone's wondering what this thing might mean, the thinking process went something like so:

• the long metallic notes represent the resonance of the sketchy thought process; the notes are shortened and become higher pitched as the thought becomes more clear and takes shape
• the clicks mean the work process and time, then followed by steam snare drums; a foundation is built to which harmony is added via brass, strings and bass
• as the labour reaches its end, a period of rest and calmness comes into play, the metallic sounds becoming less blunt and more melodic through bells; hammering, however, takes place as wooden instruments make their presence heard, representing life
• in the end there is less and less metal and more wood based resonance, the architect finishing the work (which can be a universe, a world, an artistic piece, just about anything you feel fits), leaving things take their own course from there

I've been experimenting a bit with voice overlapping. Didn't get where I wanted but it's some progress. Most I feel bad about is my faulty technique at keeping the rhythm in general.

Had a lot of tries to keep the rhythm and still has some issues. My third song with a live instrument.
Bought my first external audio interface which came with a decent microphone.

Reverse experiment:

Tried setting all my songs to reverse. This is one of those that still sounds like music afterwards.
