Double the philanthropy:

mcraciu (remake): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8jlVb7aakA&feature=youtu.be

Started this four days ago and it pretty much got off the track of reminiscence but it sounds pretty good overall, energetic even if with a bit of a melancholic mood.
It's one of those songs that should be sang on the 6th of December (depending on which calendar) and not on Christmas Eve because it is about Saint Nicholas and the only thing related to presents during Christmas is the visiting of Jesus by the three magi, if we're not to extrapolate, that is.

One God with many names:

mishary bin rashid al-afasy+nissa sabyan (mix): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGxxORVTtRU&feature=youtu.be

I liked the original (Mishary Afasy's) with the exception of the little girl's voice. It just didn't sound right with everything there. I also very much liked the choir. Then, I searched for various versions of the song to see if there was one without the little girl's voice. I didn't find one but I found Nissa Sabyan and her voice is amazing. So, with no proper electronic version of this song out there (there's a rock one by the way; I thought of doing such a version too), I decided to have Nissa's voice instead of the little girl's.
I'm not fully satisfied with the result because I wanted to add more instrumentation which I didn't have that much inspiration for especially when I could not isolate the vocals. I had to leave the piano from Nissa's cover and the bass line from both versions even though this one was toned down.
It's basically my first vocal mix.

Started it some days ago. Finished it today.

Learn to learn:

ant (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59GaSLasF3o&feature=youtu.be

Begun this one on classical guitar way back between 2009-2010. The lyrics were more but too harsh on some parts and my contemporary self did not agree with those. Every teacher has a way of conveying something and students might like it or not.

The choice is yours whether voluntarily or involuntarily:

lifetime (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0Y4TWRK3p4&feature=youtu.be

Started this one pre-2012 on classical guitar (as most of my songs). Finally made it on an electric guitar. The general idea was kept even for the lyrics (the chorus). The rest was made this year.
It usually takes a couple (two to three) of days to make most songs assuming I find the necessary sound (effects/instruments) in time and have some inspiration for the weaker parts and the percussion which I don't like to be exactly the same.

The mind without the brain? The other way is known as possible.

I am (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_btm0012OQ0

Had this idea of a dark toned rock ballad song for so long. I really don't like working on lyrics that much. I think it ended up pretty nice, being a rock hybrid.

Started this one sometime around or before 2012.

Feelings, emotions: weakness or strength?

angel radiance (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDscnzyZaZk

The second uploaded song with vocals. It's more of an experiment but I guess it could be useful to some ears.

Started this one in 2014 on classical guitar and didn't quite have the means to make it somewhat adequately until 2018. There was a muse behind it for sure.

Music Challenge vs AditTechno

dualism (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHHTTXpRosM

Finally bought an electric guitar. My main influences are from the rock genre even though I usually upload electronic types. Didn't really try to get out of the rock zone and went with it all the way risking a lower score for the entry.

In one part, more like trialism.

HiveWorkshop's 10th MC entry

living a game (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbWtf5uCS_0&feature=youtu.be

I went with the obvious game type but kind of killed it with some post 2000 stuff too. Nevertheless, worked with stereo and panning for instruments (other than percussion) more than before.

Salty tears eventually dry

dying waters (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_6XJza-QxM&feature=youtu.be

I wanted to do a song for another place but it came out melancholically and not quite Middle-Eastern so this is what came out. I think I had this in my mind, the thought, tormenting me still.

2018.

Hiveworkshop Music Contest#9 - my song

sphere of the architect (original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgWvT4k3jqk&feature=youtu.be

Elongated the beginning too much but I didn't want to shorten it out. It doesn't sound that bad and work was put on it. The second half of the song is where it gets interesting without images to help out.

If anyone's wondering what this thing might mean, the thinking process went something like so:

  • the long metallic notes represent the resonance of the sketchy thought process; the notes are shortened and become higher pitched as the thought becomes more clear and takes shape
  • the clicks mean the work process and time, then followed by steam snare drums; a foundation is built to which harmony is added via brass, strings and bass
  • as the labour reaches its end, a period of rest and calmness comes into play, the metallic sounds becoming less blunt and more melodic through bells; hammering, however, takes place as wooden instruments make their presence heard, representing life
  • in the end there is less and less metal and more wood based resonance, the architect finishing the work (which can be a universe, a world, an artistic piece, just about anything you feel fits), leaving things take their own course from there

Golden snow holiday:

flodalb (remake): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjcNa9ZmM9Q

I've been experimenting a bit with voice overlapping. Didn't get where I wanted but it's some progress. Most I feel bad about is my faulty technique at keeping the rhythm in general.
